Terms of Service

Article 1 (Scope of Application)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the conditions under which Shimonoseki City University, Tatsuki FUKUDA (hereinafter the "Operator") provides the System. Students who use the System (hereinafter "Users") shall agree to these Terms before using it.

Article 2 (Description of Service)

In connection with the courses taught by the Operator, the System provides the following:

• Distribution of course materials (slides, handouts, reference materials, etc.)
• Administration of quizzes/assignments and recording of results
• Management of grade and attendance records

Article 3 (Eligibility)

The System may only be used by students enrolled in courses taught by the Operator who hold a Google Account issued by Shimonoseki City University (domain: eco.shimonoseki-cu.ac.jp), or by other individuals approved by the Operator.

Article 4 (Login and Account Authentication)

1. Login to the System is performed via Google Sign-In (Google OAuth 2.0).
2. The System retrieves only the User's name and email address from the Google Account. Handling of this information is governed by the separate Privacy Policy.
3. Users are responsible for managing their own Google Account and shall take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized use by third parties.

Article 5 (Prohibited Conduct)

Users shall not engage in any of the following when using the System:

• Impersonating another user
• Sharing or lending account credentials to a third party
• Committing academic dishonesty in quizzes or assignments (e.g. having someone else take a quiz, unauthorized sharing of answers)
• Interfering with the operation of the System or placing excessive load on its servers or network
• Distributing or reproducing course materials to third parties without the Operator's permission
• Violating applicable laws, university regulations, or public order and morals

Article 6 (Intellectual Property)

Copyright and other intellectual property rights in course materials provided through the System belong to the Operator or other rightful owners. Users may not reproduce, republish, or distribute such materials beyond the scope of personal study.

Article 7 (Suspension, Modification, or Termination of Service)

The Operator may suspend, modify, or terminate the System, without prior notice to Users, due to maintenance, technical failure, changes in university policy, or other unavoidable circumstances.

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

• Except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence, the Operator shall not be liable for any inability to use the System or loss of data caused by communication failures, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond the Operator's control.
• Grade evaluation is conducted in accordance with the grading criteria separately established for each course; use of the System itself does not guarantee any particular grade.

Article 9 (Amendments to These Terms)

The Operator may amend these Terms without prior notice to Users when deemed necessary. Amended Terms take effect from the time they are posted within the System.

Article 10 (Governing Law and Consultation)

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any matters not provided for herein, or any doubts arising in connection herewith, shall be resolved through good-faith consultation between the Operator and the User.
